Duckett & Jeffreys Gallery are bringing their mobile gallery to the Deer Shed Festival site. The DJ Tour vehicle is a small but perfectly formed 1960’s dinky Sprite Caravan and will be exhibiting original artworks in CD cases. And on the final day of the festival, the Big Top will be home to a Sunday market with a wide variety of arts, crafts and vintage wares on sale, all from local Yorkshire artists.

About 5 1/2 years ago I returned to painting after a 4 years hiatus. My friend Timothy was getting ready to open his wine bar, Vino Paradiso. He wanted to show art on a monthly basis and he also needed some help with the color and decor of his new bar. After painting and shopping for the new look of VP I hung my paintings for my first show in many years for the opening.
Up until February of this year I was the curator of monthly exhibits by many wonderful Portland and Seattle artists as well as a few from of out of state.

I will have a selection of work from the last 5 years as well as several new paintings on display from June 15th through July 31st. I hope you can stop in and see the work and enjoy Vino Paradiso.

Guardino Gallery

I am taking part in a holiday art show at Annie's art and frame in Seattle with an opening on Saturday, December 12th - 6pm - 9pm. I will have archival prints and small mixed media paintings available at some of the price points posted above. It sounds like it will be a fun opening with the Ballard Art Walk, a special holiday luminary walk, along with cookie and caroling parties at most shops in the neighborhood. This is an excellent opportunity to pick up some wonderful, reasonably priced art by talented regional artists.

I used to paint for McMenamins about 10 years ago. I was invited to be in this group show of McMenamin artists at Linfield college in McMinnelille, OR. I am very happy to be taking part along with :

Arizona Museum for Youth

In 1978, the Arizona Museum for Youth received its 501(c)3 status and was incorporated after several years in the preliminary development phase bringing the dream of Valley philanthropists Jack and John Whiteman to life. The museum was founded in 1980 as the only children's museum in the United States with a focus on fine art. Since then, it has been a major destination for families in Metro-Phoenix area, providing the community with interactive fine art exhibits inspired to introduce children to the world of art and discover self-expression. Featuring artwork by local, national and international professionals, the exhibits of the museum bring the very best of the world of art to those under 1 to over 101 years of age.

AMY links each exhibitor with interactive art-making activities. Guided by current research, AMY’s education staff has developed the premier experience for the museum patrons. Caregivers and children learn together about the techniques, processes and materials used to create art while exploring themselves and our world through play and self-expression. With each exhibit, areas are dedicated to expression through music, reading, theatre, art making, and of course, art appreciation.

I will have a solo exhibit at the Monaco with a First Thursday Opening from 5pm - 7pm on March 4th. Join me between 5 and 6pm for complimentary wine and martinis :)
The same evening ( March 4th) from 6pm-9pm I will be taking part in a group show at Show and Tell Gallery in the Everett St Lofts. I will be heading over there about 7:15pm.

On March 8th I will have 5 paintings in the Portland International Women's Day At Portland State University : From 10am to 4pm, the 3rd floor of the Portland State University Smith Student Union will play host to a showcase of women's creativity, knowledge, and compassion.

Over 200 artists represented in the show called Love Show IV and aprox 12 artists who are Portland curators in the Voyeur Show.

I am so happy. So happy and relieved. I woke up this morning to find the most beautiful picture of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama on the front page of the news paper. This is a dream come true.

Charmagne Coe is a brilliant artist who blogs and she included me in her favorite artists of 2008 : Charmagne's Blog
I am honored to be amongst her choices - all exceedingly talented artists. Be sure and look at Charmagne's work while you are there, it is beautiful. Although different in style to my own, her work feels kindred, like we are mining in the same mountain range.
